The Accommodation
The cottage comprises two double bedrooms, both ensuite and both with walk-in wardrobes, one with a double bed and the other with a double and bunk beds. There is a kitchen/diner with table and chairs. The water and radiators can be heated by the solid fuel stove in the kitchen or by oil fired central heating. There is a downstairs bathroom (with bath) and large living room which has a TV, dvd player and cd player. A travel cot and highchair are available on request (please ask at time of booking). Wifi is provided. There is an enclosed walled garden at the front of the cottage and a patio area to the back with a seating area. Linen and towels are provided. A welcome basket will be provided which includes essentials including milk, tea and bread and a non-essential but welcome surprise or two! A detailed information booklet is available at the property.
Things to see and do
Gortahork is a quiet village in the heart of the Irish speaking Gaeltacht area and is ideally placed for touring the very scenic surrounding countryside on the Wild Atlantic Way. There is something for everyone here, whether its mountain climbing on nearby Errigal or Muckish, relaxing on one of the many fabulous beaches located nearby, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing or kayaking and river, lake or sea fishing. There is so much to see and do, you may need to plan a further trip to fit it all in!
The village boasts a large hotel, coffee shop, church, takeaway, shops and traditional pubs which often have traditional music sessions. Falcarragh is less than 5 minutes drive away with more shops and eateries. Local attractions include:

*Nearby beaches include Magheroarty, Falcarragh, Dunfanaghy and Gweedore.
*Boat trips to the islands off the Donegal coast within easy access of Gortahork (Tory, Inishbofin, Gola and Arranmore Island).

Donegal is a beautiful county with so much to see and do. Other areas of interest include the stunning peninsula of Inishowen, the bustling shopping and amenities in Letterkenny and the views and heritage in South Donegal which can all be visited on a day trip from Gortahork.
